Do you want to work, but need support to find a job?
Are you interested in working, but not sure what kind of job you could do?
Are you worried that employers won't want someone with a learning difficulty, or be able to support you?
The first thing we want to say is that you can work and you deserve the chance to get a job! We want to you support you to achieve work. Our Head Held High programme works closely with JobCentre Plus in East Kent. We provide a personalised programme based on one-to-one support from an experienced coach who will see your potential and believe in you.
How we support you
Your dedicated coach meets with you once a week for two hours. We agree a place to meet that you are comfortable with.
You are in control of your support. Your coach will work with you to create a plan, with goals that match what you want to achieve in finding a job.
We build your confidence, working with you to create a career plan, find job vacancies and approach employers.
We also think about what training needs you may have. We can support you to get the right training for the kind of work you want to do.
We use our own social enterprises or partner projects to give you experience of what a real workplace is like. This can help with your CV and references.
We don't lose touch once coaching ends. If you are still looking for work, you will be invited to join a weekly Job Club. This is a friendly and supportive group to help with job searching, applications and interviews. The club is also a great place for making friends with people who have the same experiences and goals as you.
