Sittingbourne based Supported Intern, Lenny, started his work placement on the 5th of December at the cafe in Asda, Sittingbourne.
Asda cafes are run by The Compass Group. Adam Patten, Regional Operations Manager for the South of England for The Compass Group said "we are extremely proud to be able to give support to Skillnet Group. We hope that we can give the students the experience and drive to succeed.''
Whilst in the placement Lenny's role includes:
- Cleaning tables/washing up.
- Serving customers/provide excellent customer service.
- Temperature and date checking.
- Preparing food.
- Stocking fridges.
Lenny is getting on really well and the team love him! When we asked him how he was getting on, Lenny said '' it's my second day at Asda cafe and I'm doing a grand job''
Chay Watts, Sittingbourne Unit Manager and Lenny's line manager explained "At Compass we like to support people. We help them gain new skills by giving ongoing coaching and training so that they can develop and gain confidence"
