Looking after your mental health

People with a learning difficulty and/or autism are less likely to receive support for their mental health.  This is due to a number of reasons including social isolation, not knowing where to go for support, not knowing how to communicate feelings and professionals ignoring or brushing aside mental ill health to focus on the person's learning difficulty.

With cuts to services and support continuing, people are more vulnerable than ever and this can have a severe effect on people's wellbeing and mental health.

The Foundation for People with Learning Disabilities produced this easy read guide to tell people how they can look after their own mental health and seek support if necessary.

You can download the guide here.
